Terms of Use
Agreement
These terms and conditions apply to the Manuscript website and, when it is released, to the Manuscript app for Mac. By using the website you agree to them. If you do not agree, please do not use the site.
Manuscript is offered from the United Kingdom. These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales can hear disputes about them.
The website
The website describes Manuscript. It is informational. A feature shown or described here may not be available yet, and the Mac app is not yet offered for download. Nothing on the site is a promise that a particular feature will ship, or will ship in the form shown.
The app
When Manuscript for Mac is released, it is licensed to you, not sold. You may install it on Macs you own or control and use it for your own work. You may not resell it, rent it, or redistribute it.
You keep ownership of the documents you create. Manuscript claims no rights in them. You are responsible for keeping your own copies.
Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- use the website or the app for anything unlawful
- attempt to disrupt, overload, or gain unauthorised access to the website
- copy the site, its design, or the Manuscript name to offer your own product
Our material
The text, design, and the Manuscript name and mark on this website belong to Manuscript. You may link to these pages. You may not copy them for your own product or imply that we endorse you.
Names such as Word and PowerPoint are used to describe file formats. They belong to their own owners, and Manuscript is not affiliated with them.
Availability and liability
The website and, when released, the app are provided as available. We do not warrant that they will be uninterrupted, error-free, or fit for a particular purpose.
To the extent permitted by the law of England and Wales, Manuscript is not liable for loss of documents, loss of profits, or other loss that was not reasonably foreseeable. Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for any right you have under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 that cannot be excluded.
Changes
We may update these terms. The date at the top of this page will change when we do, and the version published here is the one that applies to the website. For the app, the terms in effect when you download a version apply to that version until a newer version is published with its own terms.
If a court finds that one of these terms cannot be enforced, the rest still apply.
How we handle information is described in the Privacy Policy.
